So Steam have unleashed their Christmas sale upon the world, and boy what a sale it is. Most items are 75% off, and whilst most of the games are great, they've thrown in some mediocre games to actually make you think about your purchases.
When you log into your Steam account, you get a free gift! My girlfriend got two copies of Horde and a 50% off voucher which can't be used during the sale, unfortunately.
What did I get? A copy of Portal (which my missus and I already own!), a 33% off voucher (also not able to use during the sale - but still gonna get me the Sam & Max bundle), and a lump of coal...
Not bad, considering. But the lump of coal was disconcerting ast first, until I read what it is for. By completing achievements on games, you can unlock special prizes, you can get a gift from the pile of free games they are throwing at you, or you get a lump of coal. The lump of coal isn't as bad as it sounds. If you collect seven lumps of coal, you can craft them into a free gift, alternatively, you can keep them, as each lump of coal is an entry into the super awesome mega draw, (my lawyers have informed me I have to use the real name of the competition which is the Epic Holiday Giveaway).
The prizes for the giveaway are truly epic;
3rd Prize: 1000 people will get the Valve Complete Pack, 24 of Valve's games, including Portal 2, Half-Life 2 (and all episodes), Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, etc.
2nd Prize: 100 people will win five of the games on their wish lists. So make sure you have your wish list filled in so that Santa Gaben can fill your virtual stocking! Not a pleasant image really.
1st Prize: 50 people will win TEN of the games on their wish list! Gabe really wants to fill you up... again, probably not the best choice of words. And finally;
The Grand Prize: Hold onto your butts, EVERY GAME ON STEAM! Yes, every single game currently released on Steam. How frigging awesome is that?
Our wallets may hurt after this holiday period, but you can be rest assured that you won't walk away empty handed.
I'm not going to list all the games and bundles they are putting on sale, as it would take me hours to write it, but I will point out some things which some people may not know about. When Steam does a sale, does them in a big way. They have a list of games and bundles which are discounted all the way through the sale period, and each day, they choose a selection of games which are then further discounted. The daily deals are the best price these games are going to be, so snap them up whilst you can. However, the games on the discounted list, can be further reduced as the sale progresses, so if you have your eye on a game, it's best to buy it on the last day of the sale, that way, unless the game was part of the daily deals, you can get the best price for it.
So head on over to Steam and pick up your free shizzle!
What? You want a link? I'm not Google!

New to Blogger, Time to Troll
Primarily this blog isn't about trolling, it's about posting things I've made. Over the next few months I'll be posting new works, and consigning my old blog to the dustbin of history, but not its content, which I'll archive here. I never felt I had complete control over it, even the email address was to my former colleague in Romania (who seems to have dropped off the world).
So without further words, I present my latest work, TROLL
View at YouTube for higher quality audio, but that doesn't mean I sing any better. Problem?
